RV Manufacturers often tout the composite materials used to build their models, noting the materials resistance to water, delamination and other harmful effects.
Cortes Campers raised the composite material idea to another level.
The company's Cortes 17 trailer contains no wood, inside or out---except an optional cutting board.
The 17-foot-long trailer is made with molded fiberglass, which carries a seven-year warranty. The RV has an outer and inner fiberglass shell to increase strength, durability and longevity.
Sales Representative Denton Coyne said, "Along with the double-pane acrylic windows, our all-fiberglass Cortes Campers are four-season campers."
The fiberglass build is exceptionally lightweight---the single-axle trailer weighs 2,680 pounds dry with a 3,500-pound GVWR.
"By using four molded fiberglass shells, we eliminate the thousands of bolts, fasteners and screws that go into a traditionally built camper," Coyne said. "The four shells of fiberglass are fused together at the middle, producing one solid piece." Continued on pages 116-117 on RV News
